Welcome to Backup & Beyond, the short film festival with a focus on diversity, new perspectives, uncategorizable creativity and visions of the future. It was founded by students of the Bauhaus University in 1999 as backup_festival in Weimar, Germany. This year the festival celebrates its 20th birthday with a new name and lots of innovations. In 2019 the BAUHAUS turns 100 years old.
We here in Weimar are going to celebrate this with experimental, animated, documentary and live action short films as well as music videos of up to 30 minutes in length. These films have been created by students or graduates of Art, Media and Design Schools. Read more about the festival on our ABOUT page.
